About Us

Brief description

We teach Shotokan karate from ages 5+ at various venues around the areas of Stanley and Consett. The club is ran by cheif instructor and founder Brett Wilkinson, 5th Dan who has 24 years experience, Anthony Smith 2nd Dan who is the assistant instructor and Carl Wilkie, 1st kyu who is the junior instructor. Brett Wilkinson also teaches ladies only kick-boxercise in the same areas. Brett wilkinson is also available for private lessons on request.

    I have practiced Martial Arts in one form or another from an early age, I found this club to not only expect and encourage its student to achieve higher standards but to uphold the traditional values that are the basis for any Martial Art system whilst exploring modern attitudes. The club is friendly and welcoming to all age groups from 5+ and I have no hesitation in recommending it to all, whether you are someone who is just starting out or a Dan grade looking for a new challenge.

    THIS CLUB FROM MY EXPERIENCE DEMONSTRATES VERY HIGH STANDARDS AND IS RAN PROFFESIONALLY. I WOULD DEFINITLY RECOMMEND TO OTHERS AS THE WAY THEY TEACH THE CHILDREN IS EXTREMELLLY EFFECTIVE.
